Our Commitment to Students

We support students from the University of Brighton by providing a platform for part-time jobs and work experience, drawing from the outstanding talents and energy of the student community to help deliver our event support services.

There are part-time opportunities with our team throughout the year, and we run a dedicated recruitment drive over the summer to support our delivery during some of the busiest months of our schedule. In addition to gaining specialist event support experience, our student workers develop a wealth of transferrable skills, including administration, communication, and problem solving.

“I worked for Southcoast while finishing my PhD at the University of Brighton, and the experience was one of the highlights of my time as a student. The job helped me to pay my expenses while completing my studies, and I learned so many new skills while working with brilliant colleagues. I’m now running my own company doing something that I first tried at Southcoast, so the job really did set me up for my future career! I couldn’t recommend the team highly enough!” - James, English Literature (2020)

Our Partners

We partner with responsible businesses as part of our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Southcoast work in partnership with VisitBrighton and are currently developing a Partnership Programme which encourages and supports academics to bid for high profile events to come to Brighton, therefore offering a ‘one stop shop’ solution to conference organisation in a great location.

The team work closely with Conference Eastbourne to market a wealth of conference and events options in the town. The town will benefit from a £40 million investment into the development of Devonshire Park Centre, Winter Gardens and Congress Theatre, which is due for completion in 2020 and will further enhance Eastbourne as an ideal conference destination.

Given our commitment to green issues, Southcoast are delighted that our self-catering accommodation features in the Greentraveller online Eco Guide to Brighton.
